Projects I am currently contemplating:

1. Using an Arduino and a moisture detector so that I know when to water my plants: Garduino: Gardening + Arduino and DIY Arduino-Based Plant Moisture Sensor.

2. Modifying a camera for infrared: IR Modification of the Nikon 4300.

3. Using a pinhole camera to make solargraphs: Solagraph Instructions.

The instructable says they cut it from picture glass, so I think it must be 3mm thick. 0.3 would be really hard to handle without it breaking. Old-fashioned glaziers would let you have a bit, probably cut it to size for you too.

Yeah, I thought 0.3mm sounded a bit thin!
